Ever Bilena Liquid Concealer Review

I'm going to review this new Ever Bilena product, well not exactly new, it was newly out in the market which was... I don't know I lose track of the time probably 4-6 months ago.

Anyway, with my ELF color correcting concealer running out I bought this Ever Bilena liquid concealer in Light. I do buy this as a highlighter and not as a concealer, sometimes I use this as an under-eye concealer but mostly as an highlighter.

Packaging: Luckily the logo/text in the container has not been erased despite being inside my cramped makeup kit. For liquid concealers like it has a 'wand' which works as an applicator

Coverage: I give it a 2/5. Not really much coverage even if you pile much of the product on the blemish you are trying to cover with though it sets well when applied with powder on top. Not super sticky which is a plus. Not messy to apply as well. Little to no brightening/highlightening effect as compared to ELF color correcting concealer. It highlights my skin the fact that it is in a lighter shade.

Probably wont purchase this next time. Ever Bilena concealer stick is a much better option for concealers

Nichido loose final powder in Creamy Glow review

Long time no post it is! I've been so busy because of cosplay. I'll be reviewing a newly discovered item, well not entirely 'discovered' because I've been seeing this product almost all the time I go to mall stalls and I just chose to ignore it. You know I'm a big pressed powder fan so this product least piqued an interest because every time I try this with a tester I always decide not to buy because it creates so much mess. It messes my shirt and the floor. But I bought one and giving it a try.

Nichido final powder in Creamy Glow

Picture perfect in any light, highlights you with soft sheer, flawless effect that keeps natural glow. With this final touch, It evens skin tone and disguising imperfections.

Not that I need another pressed powder but I'm looking for an affordable translucent powder since forever. I've read that this is a good setting/translucent powder so I did not take a second guess to buy it. And yes, you know it, it is super affordable it wouldn't hurt to buy. It's a good dupe for Laura Mercier loose setting powder

Packaging
It comes in a round canister with a big enough and thick puff. The sales lady said (and my friend also says) that you need to tap the canister and put the powder first in the lid then apply. A pretty messy routine though

Finish
It's a translucent powder so it has little to no coverage. It is use for setting makeup and me as a BB cream fan, have problems in the chemistry of pressed powder vs bb cream and it tends to cake with pressed powder so with BB creams a translucent powder might be the answer. This however does not alter whatever foundation or BB cream underneath. The finish is matte nonetheless and keeps oil at bay. For girls who like puffing baby powder to their faces to freshen up this is a great upgrade to that. You know baby powder does not pass out as a makeup. Useful in setting makeup although it offers no coverage and does not cake. If you're doing the baking technique this actually does not work that way. It sets makeup but not effective in the baking technique Has a perfumey-powdery smell that might bother some but its ok for me. Safe for everyday use.

I'm really happy with this purchase and for the price (Php 150) I would definitely buy again if this ran out.

Mini Ever Bilena Haul

Hi! It's been a while I know. So for today I'll be reviewing 2 of Ever Bilena's chicest product as of date their new line of makeup: The EB Advance blush duo and the classic EB Matte Lipstick in Mauvey which, I decided to give a try.

First is the EB Advance Duo Blush. It's a blush with a bronzer together in a white rectangular compact.

The mirror inside is large enough, with a flat blush brush that is great for contouring but I find it too soft for the blush and it does not distribute ample amount of product in my face so I use tit sometimes for contouring and use another separate brush for the blush instead.

I got mine in Baked Fig. I can't describe more how Fig (a dusty pink color) is perfect for my olive skin tone. Usually blushes have too bright of pink to match a darker skin tone like mine that's why my go-to blush color then was apricot/peach shades which worked well 'till I found out that dusty pink like Fig worked out beautifully than expected. It's super pigmented though. So a small amount will do. Too much will appear too pink. Aside for matching my skin tone well it gives out a glow without the (unnecessary) shimmers as Fig is matte. Meanwhile the bronzer, bronzer? Not really maybe a contouring shade as it is a matte medium brown shade great for contouring. It's not that pigmented like the blush counterpart which I like because for contouring, it should be as subtle as possible so as to easily control the color when applying.

The color will last for 4-6 hours then retouch might be needed. It's a great buy for me and I am seeing myself buying again if this runs out. The colors worked on me perfectly, it's not super expensive and it's easily available on department stores even on grocery stores. I did not note any breakouts while using this. Definitely a good catch for me.

Next is the EB Matte Lipstick in Mauvey

"Pure impact, pure luxury. Ultra matte finish! The only matte lipstick that makes your lipstick supple and and smooth. Delicately developed with long wearing formula that accentuates and pampers your lips. Incredibly luxurious with Vitamin E that gives your lips natural moisture,"

I know that this product is one heck of a bestseller--talked about and most of the time out of stock. Some say that it's a dupe for Mac's Angel, some said that it's just a good lipstick for the price. So I decided to give a try to what this hype is all about.

Packaging is light and plastic seems not as sturdy in my liking. It has a product sample at the bottom of the cap.

When you look at the color of the lipstick from the tube it looks like a brown-pink nude shade, when swatched to skin it looks like mauve but when applied to my lips it looked like pale pinkish mauve.

It's pale for me. It is actually paler than my actual lip color but not giving off that nude vibe either. They say that this shade is like the better version of your natural lip color but not for me though. Wearing this makes my skin tone darker for some reason. The color is not match for me.

It is matte and it makes lips really dry. It also leaves streaks on lips even applied a lip balm prior. But I got to say that the formulation of this lipstick is exceptionally good. I've tried using a Mac matte formulation and it's far from this if people are saying it's a dupe for Mac, but nonetheless it's formulation is good in itself. Though matte it glides easily on lips and gives off a creamy and thick texture that is wearable for hours. The color pay-off is good. Probably I'll try to buy another shade from this EB Matte line because Mauvey is not working so well for me.

IOPE Air Cushion Sunblock EX Review

An innovation that is the air cushion , a relatively new product in the market (well, not really. I think this was raved about a year ago or 2 years? I don't know exactly) that is the IOPE Air Cushion Sunblock EX

All in one product (Brightening Essence + UV Protector + Makeup + Cooling)

Nothing can best describe air cushions than it is a BB cream in a compact.

The amount product that goes when pushed

Packaging

It comes in a box, then wrapped in a plastic inside

It comes with a folded paper inside (like the one you find inside a liquid medicine--like cough syrup yes) that has all the needed details about the product like so:

Skin expression? What does that exactly mean?

The compact is super sturdy, it has a sponge separator and mirror inside. The equally innovative (blue) sponge minimally absorbs the product so that much of the product goes into your face. It is recommended to apply the product in a patting motion than swiping it all over to your face.

Coverage
Offers a no-makeup, dewy look (almost oily), but not so much on the coverage department. Lasts for 3-4 hours on me at least because it is super hot and humid here and I frequently touch my face. Not recommended for oily skin as it become oilier and sticky the longer it stays on your face. If setting powder will make it last longer and combat the oiliness, that is however not recommended for this product as it will melt and the 'brightening effect' will not take into place. It is best when used alone, of course you can set it with powder but it will be of light coverage.

Color

I got mine in 21 Ice Vanilla - Bright and splendid skin expression

The shade is too light for me though.

*It smells so good, but too fragrant so for people who are sensitive with the smell do take note of that. I definitely prefer this more than the usual BB cream because it is easier and lesser messy to apply. And it is compact so it comes handy you can easily bring it anywhere. It also has SPF so it has the sun protection you need and no need to worry about frequent sun's exposure.

BYS Enhance and Reshape Brows Brow Gel

There are many ways on getting your eyebrows in shape: you can use powder, pencil, an eyebrow mascara--it's up to you but I personally like using pencil than anything else because you can easily control it. But I am not here to talk about eyebrow pencil, but rather my latest discovery of how you can color and shape brows using BYS Enhance and Reshape Brows Brow Gel

It's gel type, but it's like cream for me. It comes in a small container full of the product along with a small applicator on the top of the lid.

I got mine in Natural Brown. The pigmentation is good, almost similar to that of a brow mascara. For me applying the product it's a bit not-so precise than that of pencil which I prefer. Although this is better to be applied on the top of your typical eyebrow shaper. Also better if applied for more color than used alone

Well I am not really an expert when it comes to brows so forgive me.

on my brows

Sometimes plain brows could be boring, but applying this could brighten up your face and add a notch to your makeup routine

On removing makeup

Admit it, washing your face with regular soap or everyday facial wash doesn't cut it when removing makeup, a follow-up toner would also have sufficed but depending on how much makeup you put in your face is how much you have to remove makeup completely. Also, heavy duty makeup makes it all the more tricky to remove not to mention in my case waterproof liquid eyeliner settles in my under eye like it belonged there. I have to do an extra step to remove it.

There are dozen ways to remove makeup, but here are my go to products I discovered lately

Clean skin that feels softer and smoother--that's the Pond's institute promise

Ponds Perfect Care Cold Cream- this cream is a wonder. It is so called the old-fashioned way of removing makeup. Slather cream on face, swipe the area with tissue or washcloth, the makeup goes with it no less.

Tissue after swiping cold cream. All of my eye makeup goes with it in one swipe

I find this best on liquid liners and waterproof mascaras. I like how this cream smells. However, some say that this is not advisable for blemish prone skin and should be more often be used if you have dry skin.

Watsons gentle eye and lip makeup remover - effective in removing makeup compared to regular toners because it is oil-based. Some people use oil to remove makeup, this is just a better version of that baby oil as a makeup remover. Although using oil and this could be icky at times.

Transforms from liquid into an ultra fine foam to effectively remove makeup. Works by effectively removing even the heaviest makeup including waterproof mascara, eye-makeup  and foundation

Dove Foaming Make Up Remover - foam facial wash specially made in removing makeup. While regular facial wash might leave your skin dry, stretched and leaves residue, this washes away makeup gently and leaves skin moisturized. If you don't like any other ritual other than washing your face, this is the best for you. It removes all makeup in just one wash even mascaras that don't just go with just washing your face

Olay Fresh Effects Wipes - I recently found out that there are wipes now that removes makeup. This is very convenient especially when traveling for example. I honestly sometimes fall asleep with makeup on. Having this kind of swipes in bed will solve that I'm-too-tired-to-get-up-to-remove-my-makeup laziness. Just few swipes and your done. But I still do like washing my face at the end of the day

So many ways to remove makeup, you can use one or a combination to remove it. The important thing is that face is clean at the end of the day to avoid nasty breakouts in the future.

Myra E Vitasmooth Pressed Powder Review

Choosing that one pressed powder to use almost everyday is a big dilemma for me because there's just so many pressed powder (whether that is a drugstore brand or not) to choose from, and I say that I am very much easily attracted with all the choices out there. So with that search for my pressed powder, I ended up buying one for the sake of trying it out. Trying out in a tester won't do justice in deciding on buying so I ended up buying one anyway.

Myra E Vitasmooth Shine-Free Pressed Powder

I bought Myra E Vitasmooth Pressed Powder. One thing is that its affordable, it doesn't hurt to give it a try

It comes in a square (yes it's square unlike most pressed powders) and small compact with mirror

Coverage
Light. Unlike most pressed powders I bought that are hard and finely milled, this was lesser compact. It is soft to touch so much product goes on to the sponge in a swipe. Speaking of the sponge, I usually put on bb cream before applying this powder and my only problem is that the sponge blots out the bb cream on my face.

Blots out and absorbs my foundation/bb cream

Overall it does a fair job transferring the product to my face when used alone. This is more of an oil control powder than a coverage powder. If you want a powder that covers blemishes and correct skin tone this might not be the best powder for you

Controls oil up to 6 hours in my observation. Doesn't clog pores and I did not break out while using this.

It smells great and I like it. It has mild, hypoallergenic formulation suitable for sensitive skin.

Pros
-Affordable
-Easily available in stores
-Suitable for most skin types
-Great for setting makeup as it has good oil control properties
-Has SPF

Cons
-Light coverage (does not cover blemishes, large pores, redness, etc.)
-Lesser compact. Easily cracks

It already cracked up on me :(

Fashion 21 Color Mood vs. Nichido HD Lipstick Review

F21 Color Mood Icy Pastel vs. Nichido HD Lipstick in Dolly Pink

Time for another face off review or more like doing a review on 2 similar products.  This time it is between 2 baby pink lipsticks I chanced upon the store just recently: Fashion21 Color Mood in Icy Pastel and Nichido HD Lipstick in Dolly Pink.

First off with Fashion21, I know baby pink lippie would never look good on me and that's tried and tested unless I'd be the daring-non-contemporary type, but as I laid eyes on this pretty and 'sparkly' shade that I actually dig for, I know that this would be an exception.

Texture/consistency
It's shimmery, and more of the glossy type than cream type. It glides on lips smoothly

Color/staying power
Staying power not much. More like a colored lip gloss than lipstick. Glad that it does not stain and over-dry lip

Eventhough I was confident it will look princess-like pretty on me, it still looks best on light skin tones than dark/medium skin tones like me.

Nichido HD Lipstick in Dolly Pink

Texture/consistency
Matte. Not really drying on lips but it looks dry on lips and leaves creases. Plus points for extra product on the bottom of the cap. It is not the actual product but a colored gloss that you can combine with the actual product

Color/staying power
Too pale pink. Its hard to suit any skin type. Even light ones. I had my mom and sister try this out, and it still look too pale on anything and anyone. Staying power is ok. Packaging looks great, the gold tube make it look expensive when this lippie is really on the affordable range.

The final verdict between these two is that both are ok. One matte and one glossy type great to be added to your lipstick collection in case you want to feel princess-like^^
