Makeup World Contour Palette Review

I rarely come across with this particular brand and I got curious about their products since there aren't many that review this. The black color with gold accent is the main design of the product which made it look elegant and expensive. They have fair range of makeup available from compact powder, lipstick, blushes and their so-called Ultimate Palette which has all the makeup you need in one. But today I will be giving insights on their Complete Contour Palette.

Retails for Php 499 at Robinsons Department stores

The size of the palette really works well with me. It's just right in my makeup pouch, not too small that it contains less of the product and not too big that it is inconvenient to carry around. The mirror inside is large enough. The whole packaging looks neat.

Main point that I can tell is that upon swatching the product, it feels smooth and silky. Not chalky and less powdery than most contour products that I have tried. It contains 2 contour shades, 2 blushes, a highlighter and a bronzer.

Swatches

My only problem with the contour shades is that their color. The shade of brown is not perfect for contouring face as it is more on the reddish and orange undertone. Although its silkiness works it way on my face. Blushes on the other hand had fair quality. It contains bit of shimmer but mostly matte and my issue with the blushes is also the color. One is light peach and other is light pink which does not suit my dark skin tone though I work it out on my face on some occasions. The highlight is okay--not too glittery which I prefer it more to be. Bronzer works great I use it as eyeshadow as well. Less glitter but still gives out a healthy glow when applied

Overall, this a great buy for me as I cannot live without contouring otherwise I prefer not wearing at all. I'm also thinking of trying out their other products and give it a try.

Cover Girl: Ready Set Gorgeous Powder Foundation Review

This is particularly hard to find. Cover Girl stalls simply are in every department store but this particular shade of powder foundation are more often than not, not available. The reason for buying this is I tried this product tester--curiosity got me and I think it has great coverage and overall finish and yes for all that it's worth, I wasn't left disappointed.

Packaging: white compact with medium-sized mirror--no issue here, is sturdy enough to be in my makeup bag even if it has been awhile and the compact did not break over time. The product contains only half of the pan and the other half is the sponge which is unusual. I think they're trying to be creative here but it wasn't an issue as well as the product contains 10.5 grams which is an average for powder foundations. I like that is has small holes on the sponge part for ventilation which prevent bacterial growth

Coverage: is the main quality of this. Note that powder foundation gives more coverage and this did not fell short. Great applied alone or with liquid foundation underneath. Staying power is average. Controls oil and does not emphasize my dry patches

Color: I think that this really has a wide range of shade it's just that only 3 were available at the stall so I have to choose the one closest to my shade. This light medium shade suits me okay-ish it's just that it is more cool toned and my skin is leaning more on warm

Overall, this performs better than most local powders I have tried. Price range is a little more expensive than most. A good buy for me because I prefer powder foundation over usual pressed powders

San San Liquid Foundation and Crayons BB Cream Review

I'm feeling productive today so I decided to review 2 face products from HBC: San San Liquid Foundation Matte Finish in Light Ivory and Crayons BB Cream in Fair Lady. This is not a comparison review because we all know that foundation and BB cream are two different things. This is more of a side by side review of the products.

When Crayons BB Cream first came out, it was somewhat talked about in various blogs and vlogs. I was curious of its performance of course hearing that this BB Cream can pass as a foundation. I want to see and try it for myself.

Ingredients

-consistency is thick so coverage is buildable
-not enough shades to choose from. This BB Cream only has 2 shades.
-my main issue with this is that it smells terrible--like chemical. To be honest, I can stand the smell
-staying power is good but it emphasizes my blemishes and dry patches over time
-it is patchy even with primer underneath

it has white cast and emphasize dry patches

Overall, you get what you pay for. It is affordable but I am not satisfied with the overall quality of this. Much rave for this product is with its coverage but other qualities run short.

I've been eyeing San San Liquid Foundation for quite a while and gladly I can review this at last

blends with my skin well even though it is way lighter than my skin tone

-watery consistency. Coverage is medium to full. Despite being watery, I can feel some grits on the product which I guess is residue. So I shake it well before using
-it comes in a glass bottle with a spatula inside. The spatula actually helps me to apply the product better on my face
-it smells like vanilla chocolate
-despite having Matte Finish, it does not emphasize my dry patches as much as Crayons BB Cream
-blends well to my skin
-compared to Crayons BB, I like this better because you get decent quality of Foundation for an affordable price

Crayons BB Cream costs around $2 (100php) and San San Foundation costs around $4 (200php)
