Review: San San Hydrating Color Dew lipstick

My work demanded a red lipstick because I've been wearing my current mauve and nude lipsticks at work but people still say that I barely applied and still look pale so I bought a red lipstick on a whim.

I've been trying a red lipstick since like forever and I think nothing really suits my skintone perfectly. I wanted something that will flatter my face and make me look more sophisticated and glamorous because admit it people wear red lipstick not only to not look pale but also for that added glam.

I ended up buying San San Hydrating Color Dew in no. 04.

It’s my first red shade lipstick in my so-called lipstick “collection”. Deep red, plum and browns may suit me but my skin and that bright red shade doesn't go well together. Finding one that will is a good catch.

Also, there are things that I look for in buying a lipstick whether that is going to be cheap or high end:

1. Coverage – I have this dark pigmentation on my lip from a past injury and a good lipstick can cover that up especially matte ones this one however, is not matte, it is more on the glossy side since this one is from their hydrating color dew series. Has medium coverage, has shimmer but is better without it.
2. Type – I really don’t care if the lipstick will be matte, glossy, satin this time,  as long as it will match me perfectly. This one works like a combination of a lipstick and a lipbalm great for everyday use since I’m going to wear this almost every day.
3. Finish – The color may be different from swatching it from your wrist or from the picture. You need to wear it and see the overall finish on your lips. The oxidation of the product may vary and the color and consistency may not match your face. This is my problem, I look at a color and say this is a pretty color and I put it on my lips… it looks a little off.

Since I needed a lipstick on such a short notice, I was in a budget. San San Cosmetics are known for being affordable without sacrificing much of the quality. This one is very affordable costs around $2 (Php95). All of their cosmetics are infused with vitamins A, C, E and has SPF

Lasting color is around 2-4 hours. Doesn't cover the lips completely and has glossy finish.

One thing I hate about bright lipsticks is that it stains, like the lipstick has faded but it leaves a color stain on lips that for me doesn't look so neat. This one however doesn't stain so much but it does minimally.

It glides so smoothly but leaves streaks. Does not dry lips. Can be applied a without lipbalm underneath.

It may not be the show stopper red I was digging for that I can wear during special events but it’s the kind of red I can wear everyday without trying too hard. I say that this is a good buy, this is going to be useful on my makeup kit and will definitely going to buy again in case it ran out.
